Tutorial: How To Cut The Crease

One of my favourite bloggers, Leanne of Do Not Refreeze, did a post about her beauty resolutions! One of them was to learn how to "cut the crease." No, its not plastic surgery or anything of the sort - its a technique where you make your crease REALLY sharp and defined. Like this:

You don't have to have such a sharp line as I did, and you certainly don't have to cut the crease before applying your base or lid shades. This is just a guide to help you get started, so you can figure out what's best for you! :)

Now to get started! The tools:

Two small brushes - one for blending, and one for detailing. The fluffy one is an Estee Lauder travel brush, the other is from Japonesque.

Shadow pencil, mascara, and eyeshadow. I'm using Cover Girl's Eye Slicks Gel Color Pencil in Black Velvet, Stila's Major Lash Mascara, and a HIP shadow duo called Roaring.

In order to "cut" the crease, you must know where it begins! The easiest way to find it: look in the mirror, and tilt your head back. Or, raise your brows, and feel for your eye socket (don't do what I just did, and jab yourself in the pupils, OW). That's where you cut the crease!

Step 1: Draw the shadow pencil along your eye socket.

Step 2: Blend out the pencil and sharpen the crease line with the detailer brush.

Step 3: If needed, pick up some colour from the pencil with detailer brush, and define/extend the crease line some more.

Step 4: Blend the pencil upwards and out.

Step 5: Apply eyeshadow on top of the pencil.

Step 6: Pick up eyeshadow with detailer brush, define crease line and outer V.

Step 7: Apply lid shade.

Step 8: Mascara (and liner, if you're so inclined).

And there you have it!

After a while, I decided to add navy liner to my lower lash line (blended with navy shadow) with some black liner to my waterline.

Review: Victoria's Secret Pro Radiant FX Face Illuminator

Sometimes those damn Victoria's Secret models piss me off. They have perfect, voluminous hair; the greatest tans known to man, and a glow that can't be beat.

...bitch

Now, I can't have the hair...or the tan (hmph!), but I definitely know how to get the glow.

This is where Victoria's Secret Pro Radiant FX Face Illuminator comes in.

The highlighter, a peachy pink with gold shimmer, comes in pump bottle - neat, no contamination! However, its very easy to over-do it and get too much product out. There's a little trick, though: if you just barely tap tap the pump, then you can control the amount that comes out.

As of the formula, is thin and a bit runny - as most highlighters are apt to be. The colour is sheer, but buildable, and can be used either alone or mixed with foundation. Also, at 8 fl. oz, its a steal at $14. This stuff will last me a long, long time!

If I had to give this a rating, I think I'd give it...

It could be more long lasting, and the packaging could probably be better, too. But the shade itself is wonderful - perfect for all skin tones!

I'm sure that there's better highlighters out there, but for now, I'm happy with this one. :)

The Basics: My Everyday Face

Hey everyone! I just wanted to tell you guys about how I do my everyday face. Its really simple, and quick to do!

The products I'm using are Stila's Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 in Shade 2, Stila's Perfecting Foundation Stick in Shade H, and Victoria's Secret Pro Radiant FX Face Illuminator. Don't worry - I will have reviews of all 3 products posted very soon! I should preface this to say that I didn't use a primer - depending on where I have to go, I'll use one, but since I was just bumming around the house, I decided not to.

Also, I prefer to fill in my brows before anything else. That's just a preference of mine - since brows frame the face and help make features pop, I get that out of the way first!

Step 1: Apply primer, if that be your wish!

Step 2: Apply Stila's Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer. The glow is fantastic - makes me look uber radiant!

Step 3: Apply foundation. I draw on the foundation very specifically!

Haha, it seems like a lot, but trust me, it isn't!

All blended out!

Step 4: Apply the highlight. This can be tricky, because you can easily apply too much highlighter! Just remember the V trick:

Don't forget to add a dab of highlight on your chin, the bridge of your nose, and your cupid's bow (for a full lip effect)! Since my nose is so damn big, I don't use any there.

And bam! That's it! My current, basic every day face.

Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation Review/Giveaway

Hi hi friends! Last month the lovely Clarissa contacted me about No Foundation Foundation, a product by Perricone MD. After getting the deets on this product, I knew that I had to try it - its a multi-tasker!

So basically, No Foundation Foundation is your base, skincare, and SPF all rolled into one! Does it live up to its claims?

Yes and no.

It makes skin look dewy and healthy. It felt pretty nice, and it didn't dry out my skin during the day. As of the formula, its more like a tinted moisturizer. Its sorta similar to DuWop's Revolotion Face in texture, and smells similar to it, too (a bit like gingerbread). Although its meant to be used on its own, you could totally use this under powder or foundation to get more coverage.

I feel that the main issue with is product is that, although its a "universal shade," I found that it didn't work so well on darker skins. I tried this on Mama Puff, and her skin looked glowy, but washed out. Its just a tad bit light on me, but I don't mind very much because I mix equal parts with my moisturizer.

You'll like this product if...

want a 3-in-1 product
always in a hurry
prefer lightweight coverage
prefer SPF in your base product
like a dewy finish

You may not like it if...

you have a very pale or very dark skintone
you prefer medium-to-full coverage
don't like to spend a lot on base products
prefer a matte finish

That said, this product really is great, and would be a nice addition to anyone's skin regimen. Personally, I'd love it of Perricone MD released lighter and a darker shades - this way everyone can reap its benefits. But considering how great this is that's just a small bump in the road.

Review: Cover FX's Conceal FX Camoflauge Concealer

Confession: I've had this product laying around for quite some time. I know, I know; "What took you so long Puff!?" Well, I've a good reason...

When this concealer arrived, it was a bit too dark. Well...a lot too dark. And very red. So I thought, "Hmm. Who do I know that has a dark skintone with red undertones?"

Mama Puff.

This is - well, was a problem, because Mama Puff hates to take pictures. But that all changed today! Sure, I got attacked during the process, but it with how amazing this concealer is, the bite marks on my thighs are worth it (thanks a lot, Kaydon).

So is this concealer the real deal, or just a lot of talk?

To put it in simple terms, it may be the best concealer ever. Mama Puff has a lot of scarring and hyperpigmentation, and it covered everything beautifully. Mom doesn't even need a liquid foundation or a primer anymore - just this concealer and a little powder to set it. Need proof? Check the pics:

It got rid of all the scars, blemishes and dark spots on Mama Puff's face. And they're serious about the waterproof thing. I tested it on my own face (didn't leave the house though, haha) and it didn't budge when I splashed/rubbed my face with water. Oh, and those promises of it concealing tattoos?

For all of the above reasons, this product gets...

Its that great. I definitely plan to grab it for myself in my proper shade because...well, nothing else compares!

I figured it was about time for another WIYB post (its been so long!), so here's mine! :)

Bag: UO's Twisted Hardware Doctor Bag

I absolutely love this bag...it was gifted to me by my beloved TonyBear! Although its only $68, I feel that it's pretty good quality, and will last me for quite a while. I've even used it as an overnight bag in a pinch! I like this bag so much, I'm getting another in grey for Spring/Summer.

The only issue I had with it was the cardboard insert - its too flimsy for proper use! Its a shame because it gave the bag great shape; however, its still gorgeous without the insert.

Contents: Wallet, hand sanitizer, Boots No.7 Palette, asthma pump, hand creme, mini deodorant, nail buffer, post-it notes, pen, 3 lip glosses, 3 mini perfumes, and lotion.

FOTD with H.I.P Shadow Duo in Roaring

Studded Manicure With A Little Help From Fingrs

I've been horribly bored with my nails lately. I wasn't in the mood for bright colour, yet I wanted something spicy. The end result? Studded middle fingers! I love it, but Mama Puff isn't fond of it - "OOH your nails look diseased. Take that off, it makes my skin crawl!" Now that we know what Mama Puff thinks, what are your thoughts? Is this look a hit or a miss?

Smoky Eyes: Yes, You Can Do It, Too

Whenever I read a blog or magazine, women always ask the same thing:

"How can I achieve the perfect smoky eye?"

"How can I rock a bold lip colour?"

"How can I achieve flawless skin?"

Today, we address the first question!

When I think of a smoky eye...I imagine a girl that's slapped on her black liner and shadow haphazardly to go out for a night of drinking with her girlfriends, only to end up going home with a fellow she's never met...and, after a filthy romp, she wakes up in the morning with smudged makeup and ratty hair, and gets ready to do her walk of shame in a stolen button down shirt, ripped fishnet tights and hooker heels.

So...that's what I tried to achieve! You know. Minus the ho-shit.

The look:

I did this look using the Boots palette I reviewed yesterday (look right below this post). I used the included black liner all over my lids, then smudged it out at my crease. I applied the black shadow in my crease and outer-v, and used the gunmetal grey on my lids. I added just a dash of brown on my inner crease to keep it from looking dull, and highlighted with the beige. I used Urban Decay's 24/7 Liner in Zero on my waterline, and smudged with black shadow.

To achieve the smudgy, slept-in look, I took the teeniest dab of eye creme, and dabbed it on my lids and blended. I also did the same on my lower lash line. This softens the entire look and screams "I totally slept in this makeup and didn't bother to wash it off!"

Not to say that you can't have a pretty smoky eye. Here's something without the STD-ridden back story:

For this, I used UDPP in Sin as a base to add some depth to the look. I did the same application for the last smoky eye, except underneath the eyes, I blended with the black only halfway in, and used the gunmetal shade on the inner-half. Then I dabbed the beige in the inner corner of my eyes to brighten things up.

For both looks, I kept cheeks and lips very simple. I used the same rose lipstick on my lips and cheeks, and I topped off lips with a shimmery nude/gold gloss. To finish off the eyes, you could use your favourite falsies or a volumizing mascara.

And the way to achieve the most simple smoky look?

Line your eyes completely with your favourite black liner (tightline, waterline, and upper and lower lashlines), and use it all over your lids. Blend the liner out, then go over the liner with black eyeshadow and blend again. Bam! You just did the basic smoky eye.

Also, you aren't limited to just black and grey. You can use blues, purples, greens, or browns! There's no limit to what you could do. My favourite to do is purple, because it makes my brown eyes POP like no one's business!

Boots No.7 Autumn Limited Edition Eye Palette

I first came across the palette in the lovely Rowena's giveaway on her blog, Cosmetic Candy. There's nothing I love more than a good, basic quad, so I entered - and won! Thank goodness, because this quad is all kinds of awesome.

No7 Autumn Limited Edition Eye Palette in Stone is a lovely quad with neutral shadows that transition beautifully from day to night. The shades included are black, gunmetal, light brown, and beige. There's also a cute mini liner included in the palette (great on the lash line, but not the waterline). The quality of the shadows and liner is excellent. Of all the shadows, the gunmetal is the smoothest and most pigmented. My favourite, however, is the light brown, because of the gold shimmer.

The versatility of the quad is great. Like I said, it transitions beautifully from day to night. Although its very basic, there's so many different looks you could do. The possibilities are endless!

But the real reason why this quad is a winner?

It went a full 7 hours without creasing...without a base underneath.

Yes, you read that right. Colour this Puff impressed. I have the oiliest lids ever, so the fact that it lasted so long without a swipe of UDPP underneath was amazing. That alone makes this worth buying. Not to mention how large the pans are - you are definitely getting your money's worth when you buy this!

The only gripe one would have with this palette is the cardboard packaging; however, I've no qualms with this, because I feel that its pretty sturdy. In fact, I love its large size - its as big as 2 Rumor cell phones! The only way this could be any better would be if they added an eyeshadow brush and mascara. Good lord, that would be perfection.

That said, I'm definitely going to get a backup of this. Its probably one of the best palettes I've ever used. I think I'll even grab the brown version for good measure.

FOTD: Custom Berry Lip

When I did this look, I was going for something much, much darker and vampy. Despite that, I still like how well this came out! So much so, that I'm considering sending samples of my lipstick mixes to Three Custom Color Specialists to have a few tubes made. What do you guys think? As you can tell, I love Fall. Its my favourite season! Why? I can bust out my tights, booties, and my fuzzy cardigans (that I am infamous for wearing year round anyways, ha). Not only that, this is the season where bold lips, brows, and eyes reign supreme (but not all together, of course).

For this look, I decided to focus on my eyes. I used the palette that the lovely Rowena of Cosmetic Candy sent after I won her giveaway:

Review: Fing'rs EDGE Hardcore Nail Addict

Confession: I've never had my nails fancied up by a professional. I have, however, tricked friends into thinking I went to a pro with glue-on nails! There was just one problem, though - I could never find fake nails of good quality! Tip wear was dreadful, and no matter how much glue I used, the nails would pop off at the drop of a hat. And of course, most nail designs are either terribly boring, or they scream TACKY HOOKER. But all of that changed once I discovered Fing'rs EDGE Hardcore Nail Addict line!

The lovely Joy** sent me some samples to try, and (of course), as soon as they arrived at my doorstep, I got to testing. The first design I tried was a classic french tip with polka dots (31194). I rushed the application though, so the wear wasn't as good as it should have been, and I had major air bubble action going on (my friends didn't seem to notice this, though).

The second design I tried was black with skulls (with little jewels for pupils!) - MUCH more my style, and my favourite of the bunch! They didn't show air bubbles, and lasted 2 days without breaking.

The third style I gave a shot was the black french tip, which has become really popular lately. Although simple, it was another favourite because it was simple without being boring. This one I REALLY took my time with - I still hadn't forgotten the disaster I had with the polka dot french tip, and I didn't want to screw it up! In the end, I had a few air bubbles, but they weren't noticeable unless you were all up on em (and if you were I'd poke your pupils and your retinas would beg for mercy...just letting you know).

And look! I made em spicy by adding decals!

My favourite thing about EDGE nails are the length - they've got a very short length to them, which is perfect for me - medium length nails are too long for me. Its also pretty easy to find a perfect match for each nail, but since my middle and ring fingers have a wider nail bed than the rest of my fingers, I may have to file a bigger nail down to size. Not really a major thing, though - I've had to do this with every brand I've tried!

The tips of the nails don't chip at all - hooray! No touch ups! They get a little bit of wear, but nothing drastic. If you decide to use glue and apply the nails properly, you'll get little to no air bubbles. I find that no matter how hard I try (even when following Scrangie's tips**) I still end up with air bubbles. Although I don't like it, I've learned to accept it, haha.

Would I try the EDGE line again? YES. In fact, I'd been planning to buy some products from the line before Joy contacted me, and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Red Lips: Super Vamp

Today, BFF Logan said to me, "You're just so cute! You're just bubbly and happy; one of those girls where you can just pinch their cheeks!" As sweet as that was, I thought, "Hey! I can be fiesty, too!" Of course, I didn't help my cause when I let out a shrill giggle. But maybe these vampy lips will show that I can be more than just bubbly and lovable!

...Or not. Ha!

What I used to achieve this look:

- Aquafina Lip Balm

- MAC Flammable Paint

- Hard Candy's Sweet Spot Lipgloss in Hippie Chick

After prepping with lipbalm, I applied the Paint with my Japonesque 211. Then I just applied the gloss on top. And that's it - easy as pie!

I love the 211 brush - its meant as an eye detailer, but I also like using it to apply lip colour as well.

Clinique's All About Eyes Concealer: A Review

So you all know about my experience with Clinique's Supermoisture Makeup. Well, that wasn't the only Clinique product I've been testing. I've had my paws on the All About Eyes Concealer (shade of choice: 08 Deep Honey) for quite some time, and I was hoping that it would be a great companion to Supermoisture. Check the deets, dolls:

"Multi-tasking concealer disguises dark under-eye circles while helping to reduce the look of puffiness. Long-wearing, moisturizing formula won't crease or settle into fine lines. Oil-free. Ophthalmologist tested.

Formula: Liquid Concealer
Coverage: Moderate
Benefits: Moisturizes / Camouflages"

Obviously, one would think that this is right up my alley. Since my last allergic reaction, I still experience some puffiness and irritation. My peepers also tend to be on the dry side, so I need all the moisturizing I can get. Plus, I've yet to find a concealer that can stand up to Louisiana's intense humidity or my high standards. So did All About Eyes live up to expectations?

At first, no, it didn't. I tried dabbing it on with my finger, but it was always too much. Concealer brushes didn't work, either - the application was always too heavy and cakey for my liking. I remembered seeing Nicola of Pixiwoo use a fluffy crease brush to apply her concealer. So I busted out my 232 Japonesque Crease Brush **, lightly dabbed a bit of concealer on the tip, buffed the excess lightly on my hand, and then buffed the remnants onto my undereye area.

Perfection.

After trying this technique, the concealer applied lightly and evenly - no cakey effect at all. It gave a light glow to my undereye area, and it didn't settle into my fine lines or dissipate throughout the day. And although this product was created with the undereye area in mind, its perfect for concealing blemishes. I like to take a very small amount, dab it on the afflicted area with my finger, and then buff it out with my beloved 232.

Let's not forget the packaging, which is simplicity at its best. Its your basic tube, which means you'll get every drop of concealer. There's also very little chance of contamination, so it'll last much longer than the 6 months that's printed on the tube (that is, if you store it properly - in a nice, cool space).

All About Eyes gets a B because when I'm pushing for time, its a bit cumbersome to go through so many steps to conceal my flaws. When I'm in a hurry, I think I'll reach for a concealer with a wand. Would I buy it again? I think so. Its pigmented, long lasting, and doesn't irritate my eyes. What more could one want?

Hey friends! Sorry for not posting for so long. I've been taking care of some business that I've actually been waiting to share on here - but, if you follow me on Twitter, you know already! For those of you that aren't in the know, don't worry; just check out the PUFFDATE above this post! Now, on with the review:

Its been a very long time since I've worn liquid foundation - in fact, I haven't touched the stuff since I used up my Revlon's Custom Creations! And, for the first time, my beloved Studio Fix just wasn't cutting it - for some reason, it wasn't liking my newfound dry-combination skin. It was then that I decided that, after almost 2 years, it was time to bring back the Puffy Foundation Hunt!

My friend Lillian is the reason why my hunt started with Clinique. She started working at a Clinique counter and told me how much she loved their foundations. After doing some searching, I decided that the Supermoisture Makeup was most definitely for me.

"Ultra-creamy yet refreshingly lightweight makeup goes beyond flaw-fixing, acting as an undercover moisture agent for a dewy look. Disguises unevenness. Instantly comforts drier skins. Skin looks soft, radiant all day."

Gift card in hand, I headed off to my local Clinique counter and was greeted by Tammy**, a very patient and knowledgeable consultant! She matched me to the wrong shade (don't you hate mall lighting?), but I was able to exchange for a lighter shade** without any problems. Once I finally got home with my new shade, I got to the testing!

When they said it was moisturizing, they meant it! The texture of the product itself is very creamy and rich (as a moisturizing product should be), but doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all. The finish is very dewy as promised - in fact, if you look at the tube very closely, you can see the wee sparkles in the product (they aren't obvious on the skin, though - very subtle). Supermoisture evened out my skintone very nicely, and looked fresh for...hm, I'd say 3-4 hours before I had to blot - not bad!

The packaging is a basic squeeze tube. I like this because it ensures that I'll get every last drop of foundation. However, its very possible to squeeze too much out of the tube - trust me when I say that you don't need much at all to cover your flaws. Another plus is that this will not spill or open up in your makeup bag.

That being said, I would definitely buy this product again - at $22.50 for 1 oz., you can't go wrong. For that, this product gets:

You'll like this foundation if...

You have dry/dry-combo skin
You like foundations that give sheer to medium coverage
You don't mind a dewy finish
You have a fondness for tinted moisturizer

However, you probably won't like this foundation if...

You don't like shimmer in your foundation
If you have oily skin
If you prefer medium to heavy coverage

Her Best Kept Secret: Pond's Cold Cream

I cannot say it enough - every woman needs a good makeup remover, a good cleanser, and a good moisturizer. And, with Pond's Cold Cream, you can have all three.

Cold Cream Stats:

The classic rich cream deep cleans down to the pores to remove even the most stubborn make-up and impurities, while leaving skin soft and smooth.

How does it work?
Cold cream cleans thoroughly and gently, without stripping or drying and without harsh detergents. It'll add essential moisture to dry skin, without leaving residue."

PCC is the perfect multitasking product. It removes everything, including waterproof mascara. Its really gentle on the skin AND peepers - which means no stinging or burning when removing stubborn eye makeup. After using it, skin is left looking fresh and glowy. And it doesn't leave any residue behind at all - just the feeling of clean, soft skin.

Personally, I found that this isn't enough to moisturize my dry combination skin thoroughly. I don't mind that, though - I would just follow up with Pond's Dry Skin Cream (another classic that's very moisturizing) or a nice, rich night cream. That aside, it didn't break me out (in fact, it made me break out less) and helped to brighten/even out my complexion.

Glossy Glossy Tuesday: Hard Candy's Sweet Spot in Hippie Chick

I have a special place in my heart for Hard Candy. Their shadow quads are seriously excellent, and their Mixtape Palettes? Now those things were just fucking cute. Sadly, the brand has been discontinued! The good thing, though, is that you can snag a bunch of these awesome Sweet Spot glosses for just $5.50!

Hippie Chick is a warm, orangy-peachy shade that screams summer. In the tube, it looks scary pigmented and coral-ish, but once on the lips its sheer and natural looking, with just a hint of colour. And the shimmer? To die for. Normally, I hate any kind of shimmer in my gloss, but the gold and green sparkles are subtle and charming! This gloss got the shimmer and sparkle right.

There's an orangey scent and flavour to this gloss, but it doesn't bother me at all. If anything, it works with Hard Candy's cutesy theme even more! However, if you hate any sort of flavor in your gloss, avoid this one - it does taste just slightly artificial.

Lately, I've been layering this gloss over MAC's Flammable Paint to kick up my look a little. It brightens everything up and makes my pout look muy muy bonita. Haaay.

There are three other shades available - Bohemian (bronze with gold sparkle), Flower Power (light pink sparkle), and Groovy (sheer red sparkle). I bet all of these shades would work wonderfully over Flammable - especially Groovy!

All in all, Sweet Spot glosses definitely hit the spot. They're affordable, cute, and the shades are flattering to all skintones. There's no reason for you not to stock up on these beauties!

Pevonia Botanica: Évolutive Eye Cream Review

Okay, I know what you're thinking...I'm only 18 and I should have absolutely no use for eye cream. Well first off, shut up. Second, you obviously haven't been reading my blog long enough. Have you not heard of the allergic reaction chronicles?

Yep. I am allergic to dust, pollen, mold; and most recently, Alleve (*cuss cuss*). You can only imagine the amount of stress that my poor peepers have burdened the past year. So when I received the Évolutive Eye Cream in the mail, you bet I was super excited. Here's the deets:

"Vision of youth! Nourishing and smoothing, Évolutive Eye Cream's rich, non-greasy triphase homogenized formula firms and tighten the area around your eyes. Squalane, Vitamin A, E and Chitosan Ascorbate, work in unison to repair fine lines and crepiness enabling you to reveal a youthful eye contour.

Benefits:

- Nourishing and firming eye contour treatment
- Softens wrinkles
- Rich non-greasy formula
- Soothes and relaxes the epidermis

Usage:

Morning or evening, apply a small quantity of the Évolutive Eye Cream around the eyes. Assure the area is clean and use gentle tapping movements. Avoid contact with inner eyes. Use in conjunction with the “C” Évolutive Eye Gel or the Collastin Eye Contour."

After God knows how many allergic reactions I've had, the skin around my eyes became so heavy that one of my eyes looked significantly smaller than the other. That said, its been almost two weeks, and I have definitely seen an improvement with my eyes. The cream has firmed up my eye area a considerable amount, and my eyes look smoother and brighter...and, dare I say, lifted? Even my undereye circles are looking better.

The formula itself is a dream. Its rich and hydrating, but at the same time, its very light. My eyes remain moist all day. Unlike the eye cream I used by M Lab, I experienced no burning or discomfort (doesn't that defeat the point!?). Another plus is the packaging - its small enough to fit in my makeup bag, just in case of emergencies (ie the pollen-related ones).

The website recommends that you use the Évolutive Eye Gel in conjunction with this, and I did; but then I gave it to my friend Mrs. Melody - who will be posting a guest review of it this week! Personally, I liked the gel, but felt that it wasn't moisturizing enough for my hard-to-please peepers.

Would I buy this eye cream? For sure. Its moisturizing, light, soothing...everything I want in an everyday eye cream. Plus, its travel-friendly - at 1 oz its perfect for jet-setters. The only downer is the $60 price tag, but its WELL worth it for the quality you get.

You've seen this product on my blog before, however; this is a new, reformulated version for oily skin! This reminds me of a super duper Urban Decay De-Slick, but in loose powder form with SPF 30. And if its anything like De-Slick, then you can bet my nerdy paws will be all over it. $30 for 0.15 oz.

Korres Watermelon Sunscreen Stick SPF 30

Sunscreen sticks are useful for a lot of things - when you need an SPF touchup, they're perfect for use on the cheeks, eyes, lips, and ears (YES, you need to SPF your ears, too. Don't forget your hands and feet as well). This one has a wow factor thanks to the shimmer, so it leaves just a delicate highlight wherever you apply. The best part is that this product is all natural - no parabens or synthetic dyes! $24.50 for 0.68 oz.

TANtalizer Baked Matte Satin Bronzer SPF 15

There's so much that's awesome about this bronzer. First off, its MATTE - no disco shine here! Second, there's no synthetic dyes or chemicals, so its skin friendly! And how many baked bronzers do you see boasting the SPF factor? Not too many! And the wet/dry option is totally great. $30 for 0.35 oz.

BalmShelter SPF 17 Tinted Gloss

Last summer, lip gloss got a really bad rep because it was discovered that it amplified the sun's rays, therefore inscreasing one's chance of cancer. Luckily, that's all in the past - not only are there plently of SPF balms to apply underneath gloss, there's also super moisturizing glosses like this one with sun protection as well! Plus, its paraben-free, like many of the other products on this list. $19 for 0.19 oz.

Now that Mom is home from the hospital (she has had her second surgery regarding her ovarian cancer), I've taken on the role of Mommy #2, so I have a lot more on my plate! UDPP Sin: Just As Good As The Original

You guys already know my love for UDPP, despite our rocky past together. We've had a few arguments...cut up a few things...but we have worked out the kinks in our relationship and our love has been rekindled. Becuase not only did Urban Decay come out with a new bitchin shade of the stuff, they've changed the wand to make it that much easier to get the primer out of its genie shaped bottle.

I got my primer before the new wand was released...fuck

Sin is a shimmery champagne shade that was created to make eyeshadows pop just a little more than usual. I love using it under my matte shades to brighten things up a little bit. And when you add it to the inner corners of your eyes...forget about it!

It lasts just as long as the original, and it even works on its own as an eyeshadow, if you wish. I love layering it with MAC's Shadestick in Shimmersand. Some of my eyeshadows are too shimmery to use on top of the primer on its own, so adding Shimmersand over the primer makes those difficult shadow shades more wearable.

I love the new UDPP Sin, and you will too. Its worth every penny, even if I do lose a finger trying to get the last drop. I hope they release more shades soon (hint hint!).

OH BOY: SPF 100 Sunscreen Finally A Reality

I guess Neutrogena has been taking us seriously when we say we want higher SPF, because they've come out with a sunscreen with SPF 100! How awesome is that? I'm always game for more sun protection, and its great that Neutrogena is going that extra mile. I'm also glad to hear that more is being done to rate UVA rays (which totally freak me out).

Considering most people forget to apply sunscreen regularly (ahem, me), the higher SPF helps ensure that, even if they forget to apply it again, they're still protected (I'm not, however, suggesting you go without reapplying on purpose - that's just silly).

Do you think the high SPF is too much, and that people should stop being lazy and just be more diligent with sun care? Or is it genius for the forgetful? Tell me your thoughts!

PS: Puffy has a surprise for you thanks to Pevonia Botanica! Hm, wonder what it could be...we'll just have to wait til next Monday to find out!

Her Best Kept Secret - MAC Flammable Paint

Okay, I know what you're thinking. MAC Flammable Paint? Its just an eyeshadow that makes you look like you've been partying too long. What gives?

Well, believe it or not, I have made this work for me. Thanks to my Aunt, I've made yet another bitchin discovery. She liked to use it on her lips for a quick red lip. And I thought,

"Hm. If she can get away with basically using it as a lip stain...then what if I used it as a cheek stain?"

SUCCESS!

As you will see in the photos below, I use MAC's Flammable Paint to add just a wash of colour to my cheeks and on my lips. Take a look see:

Looks annoyingly natural, doesn't it? And this is after about three layers to make sure it showed up on camera - it still didn't look clownish. What makes it work for my skintone is the gold/brown undertones. Its awesome! In fact, I've even added this to my new and improved OMFG I'M GOING TO BE SO F-ING LATE Face (you will see a Part II very soon).

I did try this on my eyes, and although I didn't like the colour itself on my lids, I did like how soft, natural, and glowy it looked. And although I don't know how well it would hold up to creasing, I want to try this one MAC Paint in Bamboom. Besides, who wants to walk around with red eyelids? I don't want to be reminded of my allergic reactions!

Puffy's Skincare Routine

Hey hey hey folks. Its been about a month, but I'm finally ready to get back into the swing of things. That said, let's get right into it, and talk about my skincare routine.

In January, I decided to try some new stuff. My skin was chronically oily (even in winter), my pores were bigger than ever, and makeup didn't glide on as smoothly as I'd have liked. So I picked up Noxzema's Long Lasting Microbead Cleanser and Pond's Cold Cream for Dry Skin.

You guys...my skin improved immediately. Within one week, all of my acne was gone, and in two months, my skin was less oily and was more moisturized. Now fast forward to April...I've since switched out the Dry Skin Cream for The Cool Classic, which is basically a cleanser. I use it before washing (as a makeup remover) and after (for extra insurance). Right now I am looking for a new moisturizer, because I find that The Cool Classic isn't quite enough to moisturize my skin, and the Dry Skin Creme is just a tad too heavy for the warmer months, which is why I swapped to begin with.

I also added Clean and Clear's Soft In Shower Facial to my skincare regimen. Before using it, I would mix sugar with a Neutrogena face wash that dried out my skin to the max. The Clean and Clear Scrub works beautifully with the other products I use. I like using it in and out of the shower...either way, my skin ends up soft and smooth.

You'll be seeing more detailed reviews of these products in the next few weeks. Until then, here's my full skincare regimen - with pix!

First, if I'm wearing makeup, I take a dry face towel and remove my makeup with Pond's Classic Cold Cream. Then, I wash my face with the Noxzema cleanser or I use the Clean and Clear Scrub. In this case, I used the scrub (and since I wasn't wearing makeup, I didn't use the cream).

After letting that sit for a while, I rinse off the scrub.

Next, I cover my entire face with Pond's Cold Cream.

I dampen a corner of my towel and massage the cream off.

Enjoy your happy skin!

Again, I gotta say, the results have been phenomenal. I've never been happier with my skin! I have a few breakouts, but they are hardly noticable unless you're all up in my grill (and if you were I'd probably punch yo ass).

Now I will admit - this product is similar to Pixi's Illuminating Tint and Conceal. Both have good-for-you products, and Pixi's version even has SPF 20. But honestly, the fact that its got SPF doesn't phase me, because I put on sunscreen under my base anyways! I think I smell a comparison review!

Why? BECAUSE ITS FAKE!

A lot of you may have encountered fake cosmetics through eBay and such, and honestly I find it insulting that anyone would try to sell someone fake MAC or NARS and make the consumer think its the real deal. I'd much rather spend my money on the real deal, or at least a DUPE instead of that bull.

Amerimark is selling a counterfeit version of Global Goddess Coconut Alma Revitalizing Hair Treatment (check it!). Its an obvious fake because all the font is centered on the packaging - funny, because the GENUINE product doesn't have centered font!

Make sure that with ANY brand you're getting the REAL deal! With fakes, there may be harmful ingredients that could be dangerous to your health. Make sure you pay CLOSE attention to the packaging and look at the product itself (ie, sometimes fake NARS will have the brand name embossed in the product. Genuine NARS products don't have that).

Be smart when you shop! If you think its too good to be true - it probably is!

EDIT: It seems that the product has been taken down from the site! Apparently there's several more, so keep a look out.

Cutesy Pink Lips with NYX and Benefit

Here's a pink lip I did today using NYX's lip liner in Pinky and Benefit's Her Glossiness in Who Are You Wearing. All I did was outline the entire lip, filled it in, and topped it off with gloss! I did my quick eyeshadow trick on my lids.

When I took these pics, I was watching one of my favourite episodes of SuperJail (Time Police, Pt. 2), and I started cracking up at my favourite part - when the band starts singing the Time Police song; and the guitarist says, "HEY, those aren't the words, you changed it!" and the singer goes "ONLY THE LAST PART, IT DIDN'T RHYME"

AHAHA! Seriously, if you watch it, you'll totally get why its so funny. I love that damn show!

Hope you digged the look, and that you don't hate me too much for the pic quality. I still haven't found a new charger to replace my defective one.

Urban Decay's De-Slick Mattifying Powder (And A Mini Review of Surreal Skin Mineral Foundation)

Today your beloved decided to visit an oldie but goodie. It was lust at first sight when I first saw this product, but it became true love once I finally got my hands on it. I've had this for a few months; and let's face it, this review is long overdue. But I'm sure you all can forgive me, yes?

De-Slick Mattifying Powder is described as a lavender tinted blotting powder that's made for all skin tones. Basically, its pressed rice powder! You can either set your makeup with it, or just keep it around for touchups.

First off, the part about matching any skintone is NO lie...today I set my makeup with this, and there was no white cast at ALL. Normally, I set my tinted moisturizer with MSFN or some other tinted powder, but since I'm all tapped out, I used De-Slick and it looked great.

Another highlight is the compact the powder is housed in. DUDE, its purple with skulls and shit! The compact has a little weight to it as well, which gives a luxurious sort of feel to it. Its perfect for touch-ups! During the hot summer months, it sopped up oil immediately and felt weightless on my face.

I love this powder SO much, and honestly every woman should have this compact. Its $30, but its very much worth the money! Sadly, my compact broke (several times) and I've re-pressed that powder more times than I'd like to admit. I have to keep it in a jar now, because my compact is officially resting in pieces (it fell off my desk in math class one too many times...and once out of my pocket, but in SLO MO, YO). However I'd be more than willing to buy it again, especially if they made tinted versions or even a loose powder form!

*coff coff* Just throwing that out there, folks! *coff*

All in all Urban Decay made one hell of a product and for that it gets...

Heck yes.

Now for my mini review on the Surreal Skin Mineral Foundation!

I tried this because I was really into the packaging and couldn't get my hands on the Philosophy version. But there was just one problem:

The shade was too light!

I bought Mirage [dark olive shade], but at the time I figured maybe I was just too tan for it. Now that its winter, I'm paler and it's STILL too light - major bummer. But to be quite honest, I don't think my skin works well with any mineral foundation! I've tried wearing this many times, but it always comes out blotchy. I've also tried applying it without the puff, only to have the same result.

My experience with this foundation was not the best, however that does NOT stop me from recommending it! If you like mineral foundations and would like something travel friendly then this is for you. However if you're a little darker than most you may want to try Philosophy's version and see how well it works out!

OH! You wanted to know what's on my UD wishlist? Well, I'm still lemming their 24/7 Concealer (I seriously haven't worn concealer in 5 months...I'm DYING), and I'm really interested in their new UPDD in Sin. Yes people, I still have love for UDPP despite the packaging issues.

and that was just the sample size!

I also want to try their 24/7 liner in Zero and Honey! I've heard nothing but great things, and when I had the chance to swatch Zero, it stayed on my hand for hours after I left the store (as in I woke up the next morning and it was still there!).

HG Worthy: L'oreal Voluminous Mascara (Waterproof)

Uh...let's just cut to the chase.

This mascara is the SHIT.

As soon as people asked me if I was wearing falsies (HAAAY), I knew that I had stumbled onto something special.

The brush is seriously the perfect size. Its just large enough to reach every lash, but not too big that I was afraid I'd lose an eye if I slipped up. The formula itself is super rich and thick; and is a nice, inky black. It takes some time to dry, though (but this can be a plus, if you want to apply extra coats); so make sure you don't blink between applications. In fact, be careful with your application in general, because it can - and will! - get everywhere.

Those tiny tidbits aside...

This stuff is seriously a dream. Voluminous thickens the lashbed BEAUTIFULLY, and it holds a curl ALL DAY. I experienced no flaking, and it looked just as good at the end of the day as it did when I applied it that morning. And its truly waterproof - no matter how many tears fell, this stuff didn't smudge one bit. Its also incredibly easy to remove - with the right cleanser, it takes no time at all.

To be honest, Voluminous does what I expected Lash Blast and Colossal to do - neither lived up to my expectations, although Colossal was clearly superior to Lash Blast.

Voluminous > Colossal > Lash Blast

Quite simply, this is the best volumizing mascara I've ever used. Its everything a volumizing mascara should be and more. Not to mention the fact that its only $5 at Wal Mart - that's a good $3-4 cheaper than most drugstore mascaras!

His eye is open again! Turns out we didn't have to wash it at all - his eye would water on its own, and that's what loosened all the dirt that made his eye close up! His lil eye still shows signs of irritation, but otherwise he can still see with it. He's back to chewing shoes and socks, now too! Hooray! I'm glad that he's a happy fuffball!

A Neat Eyeshadow Trick And Vagina Inspired Beverages (FOR REAL)

Heeeey blogosphere people. Today, I really want to tell you about an eyeshadow trick I use all the time. This is usually when I'm too lazy to do "real" makeup or if I'm in a hurry. I meant to post this ages ago, but I never got around to it! So without further ado...

You're gonna need an eyeshadow pencil in a nice, neutral shade (like Maybelline's Cooling Shadow pencils in Champagne or Blizzard Brown, or a Shadestick in Shimmersand or Beige-ing). You'll also need your usual face powder or powder foundation; and a brown, black, or taupe eyeshadow for your crease.

The entire process is super simple:

Unless you are one of the few blessed bitches that never has to deal with your eyeshadow creasing, use UDPP or TFSI as a base. Cover your entire lid with the pencil shadow, and use it as a highlight under your brows and around your tear duct (see? its a multitasker!). Then grab a powder puff or sponge, dab it in your face powder or powder foundation, and pat it on the entire eye area. Now you can use the eyeshadow you grabbed and apply it to your crease, and fade it out. After that, you can add mascara and liner.

See how EASY that was? Its a great trick because it looks like such a glowy neutral shade on your lids - and its been personalized just for you. Of course, you aren't limited to just a pencil - this trick is great for creme shadows as well (thanks the blessed GODS that Urban Decay is bringing their creme shadows back).

Another thing is that this doesn't just have to be neutral! Try using diff colours in your crease. I used blue the other day, and it looked bad ass. And as you can see, I love being heavy handed with the eyeliner. Haaaay.

It tasted like...carbonated berries or something. Like a lighter version of regular fruity soda pop. I didn't feel energized afterwards. Or randy. But it tastes good, and that's enough for me!

This stuff would be RAD for bachlorette parties and for gag gifts. And since they're so light, you can mix it with your poison of choice (just don't drive afterwards, dammit). Makeup Junkie: Joy is simply fab! She's a freelance makeup artist, so you know she only gives straight up, honest reviews. She gives nothing but the facts! She's a reliable source for all things beauty and skincare related!

Mandy Pandy's Beauty Blog: Mandy P. is quite the handful, but honestly she's brilliant. Opinionated, intelligent, and sassy, she never backs down from what she has to say! And damn it, when she says it, she says it. That's why I love her - she just doesn't give a damn!

Musings of a Muse: There's so much to say about the glorious Izzie but I must summarize it into a tiny paragraph! She's always delivers the goods - from Asian beauty (she's the one that introduced me to BB creams) to high end, she never disappoints! I've been itching to do a FOTD for a while, but since my camera is officially MIA [thanks to the charger being busted] I had to use my webcam. Beau snagged me two CG quads in the shade Crystal Waters - they were throwing them out at his work! Now although I'm a bit of a snob I told him to go ahead and save them for me. And upon swatching them, I was even more dubious - how am I supposed to make this shit look fabulous?

Well, with a really thick, pigmented base [and with the help of my trusty 231 Jap Brush - haaay], I made them work.

Brow Brow Showdown: Rimmel's Professional Eyebrow Pencil in 004 Black VS. Maybelline's Define a Brow in Soft Black

I want to start this off by saying that before a few months ago, I had never, ever found a good brow pencil. For me, they were always difficult to use - always very unsteady, and the formulas were total shit. By the time I left the house, it looked as if my brows were slicked with tar. And did I mention how hard it was to find a black pencil that was actually black? I was born with black hair. My brows are black. Hair down there? YEAH, that's black too. Whenever I tried a new brow pencil, it would either be black brown, grey black, or some other colour that wasn't what I wanted. Eventually, I switched to black eyeshadow (Prestige's eyeshadow in Ebony, to be exact), and eyesmudge. Anything else was just too much trouble!

Fast forward 2 years. There'd be days I was running late, and couldnt find my brush to fill in my brows. I've even missed the bus because of this dilemma - trying to rush and find my essentials to take with me on the go. So what to do? It was time for a change. I needed a brow pencil - but not just any regular one, which put my 16 year old self through hell. I needed something special.

After lots of searching, I decided to try Rimmel's version, based on the rave reviews. But, for some reason, when I got to the store, I decided to try Define A Brow instead. I took it home, and immediately had issues with it.

It smudged while I was watching TV for only an hour (the AC and the fan were on, and I hadn't done any strenuous activity). The attached comb didn't tame my brows AT ALL - I still had to get a spooly brush to put them in place. And on the packaging, the pencil is advertised as having a slanted tip...not so. Its rounded, so as soon as you use it, you don't have a sharp line anymore. The pencil itself is so thin, it was hard for me to maneuver. You can't retract the pencil, either; so if you push up too much product, you're screwed. And lastly...the dealbreaker...

It wasn't black.

It was black fucking grey.

Before the night was over, I exchanged that $6 mess for my original choice - and thank God I did.

If your brows are already thick and you just need a little help (key word here is a little), then go ahead and pick it up. Otherwise...don't.

Contrary to my experience with Define A Brow, I fell in love with Rimmel's brow pencil as soon as it fell into my nerdy little paws. First off, I only paid $2.99 for it - a bargain. And being able to sharpen it allowed for a nice, sharp, solid point to sketch the outline of my brows. Its the size of a normal pencil, so it was easy to control. The cap of the pencil has a mini brush attached to it - and it actually works! I'm able to brush my short brows up with ease. Its a decent size to fit into any makeup bag as well! In fact, on the days I'm running late, I'll tuck it into my pocket and dash out of the door - no more missing the bus! And let's not forget the formula - its lasts all day, and its buildable, so you can go as light or as heavy as you like. It may budge a tad in extremely hot (and I mean HOT) and humid weather, but not enough to the point that I'd chuck it. At the end of the day, all I have to do is run a spooly through it, and bam, my brows are isntantly refreshed.

And of course...the best part...

Its black. A true, honest to god black.

This product does exactly what it says it will, and there's no bells or whistles or any bullshit packaging to work around. Its affordable and readily available, and that's why this product gets my official stamp of approval.

Its totally worth buying, and I recommend this to everyone. I'm actually getting ready to stock up this Wednesday. For some reason, Walgreens has a higher price than most, but I'm going to Wal Mart anyways! Can you say Rollback?

As you probably know by now I'm a huge DuWop fan when it comes to their TM (review tomorrow...pinky swears), and Too Faced is just fucking fabulous. But enough with my rambling - let's get on with the show!

DuWop's Foundation of Youth, $38:

I figured you guys were waiting for this one [the reaction is from November...I've been putting off this post for a while]...plus I'm having a pretty lame day and didn't feel like doing my reviews yet. My dog Bailey had a seizure earlier this week and although he's recovered he's still not the playful little guy he used to be. I'm still really sad about it just because he doesn't seem as happy and doesn't want to play or run or do his usual Bailey stuff. He hides under my bed and won't come out for hours on end...

Anyways, I guess I ought to give a quick rundown on the reaction, and then I'll put up the pics...basically, I was having really bad period pains that I used to take 600 mg prescription ibuprofen for, along with my scoliosis. Well, I took some Aleve to help with the pain, and then I crawled back into bed to snuggle the Beau. But about an hour later, I notice something's up with my eye. I figure its just eye gunk, you know, so I go to rub my eyes...and then I notice that its puffy.

Fuck.

By 8:45, I look like hell, and I grew progressively uglier by the second.

It was the worst reaction I had to date. Don't believe me? Then lookit this:

The doctor made some not so nice jokes, and told me to see an allergist. He was a dick but gave me some bitchin meds. I was back to normal in about 3 days. Hoorah.

And you guys, I'm so not in the Christmas Spirit this year. I won't go into details about what has upset me but basically I feel that Christmas has been pretty much taken away this year. We have no tree or gifts this year. I just wanted to be able to enjoy the holidays with my family but as always someone decided to ruin it for us. So mom and I will be going shopping on the 31st to make up for X-Mas, and we'll be taking Bailey to the groomer's so they can cut his fur...hopefully it'll make him feel better.

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday. I'll have my reviews up tomorrow.

Lisbeth Sez: A Review of MACs Studio Stick Concealer

Hi everyone! If you read my last post, then you remember I wanted an honest to god review on Studio Stick Concealer. Well, my beloved partner in crime Lisbeth came to the rescue, and tried out the concealer the next day for me! So here's what she had to say about the concealer:

Ok, let me make sure I've got the name right.. Puff asked for a review on MAC's Studio Stick Concealer, so I decided to go try it out. I mean, I've needed a new concealer since my sister stole mine(previously stolen from her), so why not try something new, right? An avid drug store cosmetic buyer, MAC's prices usually make me race back to CoverGirl and Maybelline. As a favor to Puffy, though, I'd cough up the $15.50 and try something new.

The makeup artist(never did get her name, but she knew her stuff) was very helpful. Bless her heart, she even told me that my under-eye circles aren't that bad! An insomniac for nearly 22 years, those circles are my biggest concern, covering them my biggest priority. She dabbed NC20 under one eye, NW20 under the other--apparently I have yellow AND red undertones--and blended. My under-eye circles from hell were gone! The NW20 was too red, and both needed more blending, but I've found a concealer that matches my ghost skin. (Most MA's try to darken that up, to my eternal confusion.)

Still dubious, I wore it to work, doing a full face of makeup for the first time in ages. Sure, it hid the circles for the hour or so before I washed my face last night, but would it stand up to a few hours of retail hell?

Damned if it didn't. Oh, sure, it could use a touch-up now, but it lasted far better than my foundation. Even better? With the foundation worn away, the concealer still looks natural! Color me amazed. It matches AND lasts? The thick but not too-thick formula has made me one happy Lisabeth. One of my regular customers, who always has suggestions for my insomnia, thought I had finally managed to get some sleep. This little gem is going straight into my makeup bag--at least, it will when I finally get around to making it--and if you're hunting for a new concealer, it should go in yours.

Just remember: A little goes a long way, moisturize well before putting it on, and blend well. Enjoy! You now look more gorgeous, and and better rested than Rip Van Winkle after his 100 year nap.

A Very, Very MAC X-Mas

MSFs are a cross between blushers and highlighters - the give the faintest hint of colour, highlight the high planes of the face beautifully, and warm up the skintone in the most amazing way. How could you NOT want them? Petticoat and So Ceylon are LE [Gold Deposit is Permanent], so act fast!

Shadesticks, $16.50; in Shimmersand and Beige-ing

Shadesticks are a classic MAC product. Typically used as a base for shadows, they glide on and dry down to a beautiful finish. They look amazing on their own in a pinch!

Paint Pot, $16.50; Rubenesque

I bet you're wondering why I didn't pick the typical Painterly or Bare Canvas shades! Well, they're too damn boring. I'd rather save my extra 50 cents and stick to UDPP! But Rubenesque...this baby is special. Its a golden peach shade, with gold and pink iridescence. Think Expensive Pink eyeshadow, but more subtle and warm! This is a special shade to layer underneath your shadows for a bit of extra oomph...there can never be a dull moment with such a pretty shade. Indianwood and Fresco Rose are also good choices!

HG Status: MAC Studio Fix Foundation

My very first encounter with MAC was around the time the C-Shock Collection was released. I heard a lot about the brand, but had no idea what they were like. So I go on the site, and I was immediately drawn to the simple, impeccable packaging...but even more so to the description of Studio Fix. A powder that gives the coverage of liquid foundation, and without the mess? I was sold. But of course, the $20+ price tag stalled me. Plus, I knew that there was no way my 15-16ish self would ever be able to get to a MAC. And even if I could, LOOK AT ALL THE SHADES! How would I ever know what my match would be?

Some kind of higher being was looking down on me that day, because what happened afterwards was seriously rad. The day after my MAC discovery, my aunt stopped by, wanting me to do her makeup cos she had to go do some Aunt Stuff [how the hell do I know what Aunts do?]. After I applied her eyeshadow, she asked me what kind of makeup I'd been wanting lately. I immediately said, "MAC STUDIO FIX OMG AUNT ITS SO COOL ITS POWDERY AND FOUNDATIONY AND STUFF!"

Then she said, "Oh, THIS?"

It was a brand new freaking compact of Studio Fix in NC50. It had been rattling around in her bag for ages, and she hadn't even used it! Not only did it match me perfectly, she let me keep it - and that was when my MAC obsession officially began.

See what I mean about the higher being thing? Rad, huh?

Studio Fix is a foundation I always find myself going back to. It gives the perfect amount of coverage, it doesn't oxidize, and it lasts forever - I just ran out of my first compact last month, and I have been absolutely heartbroken. And not just because I'm too damn broke to buy more, either.

Okay, sooo its been how many months? Two? Three? Either way, its been too long, and I totally apologize.

School and being sick all the time have kept me from blogging! In fact, I'm sick right now. The second time in less than two weeks, at that. I can't taste food, for christ's sake! That, and I've missed a total of three days of school. Can you even COMPREHEND how much math work I have to do now!?

A hell of a lot.

I even had another allergic reaction when we moved. But not to mold, dust, or pollen, as one would think.Turns out, I may be allergic to asprin...yes, asprin, of all things. I'll post the pics soon [you know you wanna see!].

But moving on! I'm sure you've noticed the new little logo and everything! Well, Puff has made some nifty changes! From now on, whenever I rate a product, you'll see something like this:

We finally got the computer fixed. We decided to get our internet from our cable provider and IE is running a LOT better than before. I'll probably go back to firefox ONE day but it will not be today!

Also, we're finally settled into the house. It actually looks better than I remembered last time [my eyes were half shut last time, that could explain it], and I've grown to love it.

MY room, however...sweet Jesus. I'll take pics for you all later. Words can NOT explain the freakiness! It shall promptly be painted a nice navy blue on the bottom half, with white up top, with my name on one side of the wall. HEE.

On a more somber note, though: Mum found out that she has ovarian cancer [yikes!], and that its malignant and growing very rapidly. The docs say that in order to stop it they have to take out her uterus completely [super yikes!], so this week she'll be getting surgery! Wish my mumsy luck and keep her in your prayers!

I'll try to start posting regularly next week! I can't wait, I have so much to share!

Oh, and if you couldn't guess my Halloween costume...I'm being a doll! And if that doesn't work out - cos you know, I need white face paint...and powder...and stuff - I'll just be a fucked up Mrs. Lovett [from Sweeny Todd! NOM NOM]!

Puffy Update:

I'm so sorry that I've been gone, everyone. Stuff has gotten pretty bad since my last post. Let me elaborate...

So those allergic reactions I've been having every week? Yeah, well, we found out what could be causing that. We had someone check the air quality in our house, and it was NOT good. The air quality in my room is 23%, with a dash of toxins and asbestos on my ceiling [guess what I'm breathing in when the ceiling fan is on?], and in the house overall, its 67%. That's out of 100%, by the way.

It gets even better, though - there's mold in the closets and underneath the kitchen cabinets! Yay! Every time I go into the cabinet under the sink for cleaning products, I catch a nice whiff of mold spores. I'm loving it.

So now we're moving again. We're in the middle of packing as I type, and quite honestly, I'm pissed. I told my parents that I didn't really like this house...I was called selfish, and now look? I'm covered in hives and my little brother is breathing in mold. I miss my old neighbourhood more than concealer and mascara [which I haven't worn in two weeks - thanks for feeding me bullcrap, Dr. W (more on that in a bit)].

But among all that, I guess there's some good news...I tried out for All State Choir [it would look great on my college apps, and I'd get scholarships for it!] and I made it to the second round!

Of course, there's a catch - not only is the song in KOREAN [or is it Chinese?], but the location of the audition is two hours away - that means getting up around 4 am to be somewhere at about 8 am. But before I get up bright and early to sing a 2 minute song in a foreign language, we're moving into yet another house I don't like the day before. Can you say STRESS 80 billion times fast? You should see my acne. I can't even hide my breakouts or my distress - I ditched my concealer and mascara because my doctor said my makeup could have been causing reactions.

I had another reaction that weekend. Bastard.

Speaking of my lack of makeup, I'm officially out of MSF. Can you say DIE? I'm quickly going back to my former HG, Revlon's Soft Flex powder...I'm way too broke to get to a MAC in time.

But...moving on. I won't be able to post for a bit, because Bellsouth decided to be a TART. Apparently, once we move, we can only have Dial-Up. WTF? So now I'm the one hunting for a new internet provider. Any ideas? I haven't had much luck in my search.

I hope everyone is doing WAY better than I am. No one should be this stressed out, especially during work or this early into the school year. I'll definitely be back before the 25th. Why that date? Because that's HOMECOMING, and I at least want to share my dress/makeup plans with you. And let's not forget the Halloween get-up - I'll give you a hint: it rhymes with the name I'm signing the blog with!

I'm gonna try to get Twitter on my phone so I can keep everyone updated. I hope you guys are doing okay, and that your lives are entirely stress [and parent] free.

After upgrading to Firefox 3, my e-mail was hacked...so whoever did it ended up with access to blogger, my myspace, and...ugh, I'm just SO pissed off. And I had ANOTHER allergic reaction and couldn't go to school, so not only are my eyeballs throbbing, so is my temper.

I'll get back to blogging as soon as this is taken care of! I'm just in shock. I've been using firefox for 3-4 years, I've never had anything like this happen to me before. So I'm going to un-install Firefox for the SECOND time...

First day of school, and Mr. Gustav.

Hi hi everyone! I know that you're TOTALLY pissed at me for being gone for so long, but school has been kicking my ass hardcore. My math teacher - who is BAD ASS, btw - gives us homework everyday! But how can I hate him? Not only is he THE best math teacher I've ever had, but he's Canadian! Its hilarious, he'll slowly drift into his accent over the course of the class, hahaha. But anyways!

My first day was great; and school, although keeping me busy, has been enjoyable! I've been succeeding in all of my classes and so far my grades are pretty groovy. I've been keeping more to myself lately, though; I don't feel as if there's really anyone there I could truly call my gal pal, you know? I've been super lonely, but I'm more focused on my work these days, so I guess its a good thing?

On a more somber note, Gustav is headed straight for Bossier City! Luckily it didn't hit New Orleans too bad, so there wasn't a Katrina-like catastrophe this year. I just hope I can say the same for the Ark-La-Tex area! When Katrina hit, we only got rain, but we had a hell of a lot to clean up, so I can just imagine what will happen this time. I know that the power will go off [tear!], so I'm going to recharge my phone and camera, and grab my favourite hat just in case anything happens. We were actually supposed to go to school today [how lame!], but our Gov'nah has mandated that all schools are closed tomorrow and Wednesday - meep. Hopefully everyone in Gustav's way is preparing themselves just in case!

Okay, now that that sadness is out of the way...once this damn hurricane is gone [or as soon as I schedule my posts, haha], you'll FINALLY see all of my reviews! And guess what else? 27 Glosses will now be known as Glossy Glossy Tuesdays and Thursdays!

...Shut up! Its the best thing I could think of. I've been trying some bitchin glosses lately and I can't confine it all to just 27. So every Tuesday and Thursday you'll see SOMETHING gloss related! How bitchin does that sound? And tomorrow just SO happens to be a Tuesday! OoOoOoO! You guys will totally love tomorrow's pick, because its budget-friendly! And don't worry, I'll still post my quick and effortless eyeshadow trick!

Paul Starr - I seriously can't deal.

So I was browsing the ever amazing Bella Sugar, when I came across some haunting news:

Paul Starr has died at the young age of 51.

I just started crying. I was first exposed to Mr. Starr's work through We Love Beauty, so my first instinct was to check the site, and Ben's Twitter.

I'm so horrendously sad. He did some great things and achieved everything that I would like to some day. I can't imagine how my WLB pals and all of Paul's friends and family must feel.

HG Status: Benefit's You Clean Up Nice Face Wash

Hi hi all! Today, I wanted to tell you about one of my absolute favourite products that I've ever used. I got it as a gift from the glorious Ben, and I must say, You Clean Up Nice is such an amazing cleanser. And of course, I'm sure you're wondering - why's it so special? Why does THIS product deserve HG status over all others?

Because its simple.

There's no trinkets; no bells or whistles; its a basic product with one sole function: to get your skin squeaky clean without irritation! That's why I love it - it doesn't promise to eradicate wrinkles or lift your boobs to your eyeballs; it does exactly what it says it should!

Of all the cleansers I've used, this one is right at the top of my list. Its the most gentle I've used, probably due to the fact that it has no salicylic acid. When the thick, clear, gel like cleanser comes in contact with water, it lathers up beautifully, so it only takes a drop to cleanse your entire face. I noticed a little drying of the skin, but it wasn't so bad that it was seriously irritating. Oh, and get this - it took off ALL of my makeup. Even waterproof mascara, which I could never, ever give up. Another thing to note is the amount you get - a lovely 8 oz! This container lasted me 7 months!

Need more proof that its great? My mum pretty much tried to steal it as soon as she got her hands on it. Then again, she wants everything that's gifted to me! Oh, and when I was the makeup artist for the school play, I brought it up to the school so the actors could wash their faces before and after their performances. They LOVED it. I'm pretty sure that they're the reason I didn't get a few more months of use out of my bottle!

Although I got this as a gift, I'd certainly buy it again and again. It's not travel friendly, but it looks damn good on the bathroom sink - and that's good enough for me!

Tomorrow - The First Day of HELL.

Despite the new haircut [click the pic on the left!], I'm not very excited for my Senior Year. I picked up my schedule, and was horrified. Why? Oy...okay, quick story time.

During my freshman year, I had a teacher that I will call TEACHER A. She taught Algrebra I part I, and I was horrified because I've always been dreadful with math. But she made it SUPER easy, and I passed her class with a C plus! I was super proud. But fast forward to second term. I ended up with a teacher I like to call TEACHER B. Now, I was excited - last term was so fun and the lessons were easy to comprehend, so this teacher would be just as good, yeah?

...No.

Her class was just horrible. There would be days when she walked into class and said to us, "Do ya'll know the lesson? I have a headache, I don't feel like teaching today." And she would sit down, drink her cokes, do...stuff, and we'd be left to our own devices.

There's a lot more I could go on about, but you can see how upsetting that is since I was placed in one of her classes - and that wasn't the only thing! They put me in the wrong homeroom class when I was supposed to be in College BCA, and I was placed in Home Ec, which was supposed to be Library Science. Luckily, the new counselor is SUPER sweet, and told me to call her and they'd fix everything. YAY!

I'm still not looking forward to it, though. Senior year...ick. Missing the school bus...ick. School food...super ick - though I do love me some Muffin Day. Mm nom nom.

But what I AM looking forward to is a FOTD tomorrow - how fun will that shit be? I have an AWESOME trick to share with you guys for a quick, effortless eye look! you'll seriously be amazed. Also, I have glosses that will be perfect for the Dark lips trend going about! I'm so loving dark cherry lips right now - so sexy. And let's not forget my long awaited review on my HG TM, in video form!

All in all, the only thing keeping me going is PR! Makeup is seriously THE best therapy.

For all of my fellow teenaged brethren starting school - good luck, you'll seriously need it.

Shoes!

Okay, so this ISN'T a review or anything, but I wanted to update you guys on my shoe hunt for school! Besides makeup, shoes are the only way that anyone can really show off their sense of style at school. We even have limits on what colour we can dye our hair, and we can't have any piercings - which is super lame; I really wanted to get snakebites this summer!

You can see how limited we are! But for the time being, I'm content with indulging in my shoe lust! I wanted to show you guys what I've bought/picked so far!

Aren't they to die for!? I know I told you guys that I wanted the Little Miss Trouble ones, and I did; but I wanted these first! The problem was that I couldn't find them in my size - bummer, right? Well, when I went shopping, the LMT sneaks were nowhere to be found...but my AE wedges were sitting there in my size, just waiting for me to buy them! Hoorah! They were even on sale for $16! You guys know I love a good sale.

Okay, now on to the next pair! You remember the AE clogs I posted, right?

Well, I found this pair by Bjorndal, and they are EXACTLY the same, and they're even comfier than the AE ones!

The best part is that they're half the price of the AE ones - they're on sale for $15! And even if they weren't on sale, they'd STILL be cheaper. They're even available in black! Methinks I'll have to get two pairs of these lovelies, yeah?

Now, for the last pair...believe it or not, my mum picked these out! She thought I'd like them, and at first, I was like, "Uhm, Mudd? You gotta be kidding!"

The wedge on these look as if they're about 3 inches, which is a little out of my comfort zone! But when I tried them on, birds chirped, angels sang, and all was right with the world. They looked hot, and were comfy as hell! I wondered why I didn't like them from the get go! They're also on sale, marked down from $44.99 to $39.99! Lush!

And of course, mum is dying to get me a new pair of Converse, which have always been a staple in my wardrobe:

She'd rather buy me shoes instead of a backpack! That's mum for you, haha.

A Puffy Puff Is An Unhappy Puff

Warning: There's pics of my super gross allergic reaction in this post! I do NOT look pretty...there's even a dried up tear on my face [waa!]. Just letting you know!

Hope you guys don't mind me venting a bit, but good lord I hate these allergic reactions I get! They're worse than ever! Now my lips swell up, and the swelling even hurts more than usual. I've always been allergic to dust, pollen and the like, but I swear its this house that's doing it. I've never been this allergic before! I went to dust behind my computer, and I was Puffed up in at least 30 minutes time!

I'm really afraid that this will affect me in school...you all know that school = a germophobe's HELL. I seriously carry hand sanitizer with me every where. I wash my hands, and then I'll use sanitizer because there's not hot water at school...but anyways.

We have a lot of trees on our wee campus, and when its windy, dust gets EVERYWHERE, and I'm afraid that it'll make me more prone to get Puffed during school. I'm taking some more difficult classes like Dual Enrollment BCA*, Advanced Math, and English 4 AP Honours. Last year I really fucked up because I was in and out of the hospital for "mild" scoliosis**, and eventually I got lazy and my grades suffered as a result. I don't want that to happen again this year!

Oh well. I guess I'll have to talk to my counselor*** when I pick up my schedule next Thursday!

Thanks for letting me rant you guys! I'm not sure when I'll post again because I have 3 novels to read in a week, so I'm trying to focus on my school work and get ready to hit the books. I'll do my best to have a tonne of reviews [and yes, vid reviews too] so you guys won't get bored and forget me!
