If you read Posts To Look Forward To, then you know that my birthday is less than a week away! I'm this much closer to being an even older cynical pessimist. Who would have thought?Of course, I have a full makeup wish list - why so long? Well, I've been applying for a new job, so if I ever get hired, I want to look presentable in the workplace. And I need to look snazzy when I'm on a date with the Beau or hanging with friends. Oh, and I want to look SUPA FLY for my senior year. In other words, I want products that can take me from day to night!
All I really wanted for my birthday was a bunch of Sephora gift cards. With how long my wish list is, I knew I'd need them! But my grades were pretty lame this term, so I'm not expecting much this year. And even if I got the money on my own, the closest Sephora is three hours away - in Baton Rouge! I know that NO ONE would take me that far just to indulge in my cosmetic fantasies.
So what exactly is it that's on my wish list? Let me give you the run down:
First up is the Too Faced Teddy Bear Hair Professional Brush Set. Its a set of five horrendously soft brushes that are made to travel! There's even a wee pouch on the inside to carry your essentials. On Sephora, its $62.50. Ouch! But guess what - if you do some intense hunting at your local TJ Maxx, you can find this jem for about $25! Talk about a bargain!
Another great thing about this set? Its totally cruelty free, so no wee squirrels or anything were harmed when they were made! Which means = high quality syntheticness! If only I could say the same about some of my Japonesque brushes [which are the BEST].
Second in the lineup is Philosophy's The Supernatural Airbrushed Canvas SPF 15. You guys have already heard me RAVING about this, and its still on my list. Why? Its perfect for on the go travel, especially when you have to apply your makeup in a pinch. Its also got a mini mirror in the lid! How cute is that? Its easy to select your shade, and the attached puff makes for quick and easy application. Its a bit pricey at $35, but well worth it.
Next is Kat Von D's True Romance Palette in Ludwig! There's been tonnes of raves about this product, and I see why. The shades are true to life, and come very close to rivaling MAC. Pigmented and smooth, its easy to go from day to night with this palette in your arsenal. And just look at the pretty packaging - which is inspired by Kat's favourite tat. You can't go wrong with purchase! Its a steal at $34.

This next palette is one that I've been lemming for quite some time. Its Urban Decay's Foreshadow Palette - which is only available online! And trust me, I checked. I can't find that son of a bitch palette nowhere.
Its got the perfect shades - Oil Slick [black with silver glitter]; Stray Dog [a medium brown]; Midnight Cowboy [UD's most popular shade - champagne with silver glitter]; and Flipside [teal with a blue sheen]. Its another palette that's perfect for a student like me. The case itself is very chic, with its purple suede and metal mesh. It also includes a mini eyeshadow brush, which looks as if it would be perfect for use in the crease! This is pretty fairly priced at $24.
If you haven't heard yet, I'm on a liner hunt. I have oily lids - and its hard to find a really good liner that will stay on all day. I've only found ONE that comes close to being my holy grail. So what is it that I've got my sights on now? Smashbox's Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in Midnight Black.
A cult favourite, Jet Set is known for its long lasting properties. The blackest black on the market, its got to be one of Smashbox's best selling products. I'm drooling after this for one reason - to tightline. Usually, when I attempt this, the liner will either transfer to my inner rim, flake away, or fade away. The biggest complaint about this liner? Apparently, it dries out horrendously fast. But don't people know that storing their gel liners upside down helps prevent that?
Lastly, I've got DuWop's Prime Venom on the list! A satin matte balm, its supposed to plump, prime, and moisturize - all in one step. It would be even better if it had SPF, but hey, beggars certainly can't be choosers. Besides that one lil flaw, all of my balmy and plump-y prayers have been answered!
Its a hell of a list, isn't it? You wouldn't believe it, but I had MORE. I think I've officially taken out Stila's TM, since I may have found a worthy substitute. But here's some others that I was drooling over for a while:
Peter Thomas Roth's Instant Mineral SPF 30: This is a miracle product. Sunscreen, in POWDER form? In an extremely travel friendly container, with a soft brush already attached? Its too good to be true. And why did I want? Because even though cosmetics may already contain SPF, it wears off during the day. This is a quick and easy way to protect your face, neck, and ears in a pinch. Plus, its translucent, so it'll work for everyone. Priced at $30, you can't get any better than that.
Tarte's Natural Swirl Cheek Stain: After I saw swatches, I was sold. You wouldn't believe how pretty it is! I like creme blushers because they're easy to apply when I'm pressed for time [remember my OMFG post?]. And with how gorgeous this looks, you can't go wrong - its one of those shades that could work for virtually everyone. It better be a huge container for $28, though!
Fresh Eye Shadow Trio [in Lost World]: I fell in love with this palette for three reasons. One, its small and compact. Two, the brush would be perfect for crease action. And three, its fucking gorgeous. The taupe and two green shades are universally flattering. If you can overlook the $32 price tag, then this will definitely be the perfect addition to any woman's tote.
Urban Decay's Urban Survival Set: How amazing is this? It got 4 neutral shadows [Twice Baked, Smog, Chopper, and Glitter], a 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero, and four cosmetic minis: UDPP, Lip Envy in Greedy, XXX Shine Lip Gloss in Naked, and a black mascara! This is perfect for keeping in your backpack when you only have five minutes to get ready for school. At $42, its well worth the money.
And that's it! Isn't it horridly extensive and expensive? Of course it is. Ah well. Maybe I'll aquire it all someday - just not today.
